Geoff Tate – Amsterdam Bar & Hall – St. Paul MN – February 8th 2017

SMA Presents: Geoff Tate The Whole Ryche Acoustic Story Tour.

Geoff’s show tonight was a bit like a VH1 storyteller. Some stories and mostly songs.

With a small intimate feeling at The Amsterdam I was excited to see how it was all gonna work.

Buddy Patrick got us right up front, thanks for getting there early. Band was 2 guitars – fiddle and percussion.

Opening with Walk in the Shadows from Rage for Order and Another Rainy Night from Empire we knew it was gonna be good.

Even being excited you never know how rock n roll will come off acoustically, tonight was on of the good ones.

The sound in the Amsterdam was incredible. It sounded like I was listening to a cd in my car. Thumbs up to the sound guy.

Geoff had some great stories ranging from recording in Nashville as a rock band, writing songs for his wife, traveling stories and one about American Hero.

The set list ranged from all Queensryche albums and even a Dropkick Murphy’s cover.

Set list – Walk in the Shadows – Another Rainy Night (without you) – Some People Fly – Jet City Woman – Chasing Blue Sky – Bridge – Until There Was You – Out of Mind – Silent Lucidity

– The Fight – Blood – Take Hold of the Flame – The Lady Wore Black – Hundred Mile Stare – I Don’t Believe in Love – Eyes of a Stranger – I’m Shipping up to Boston – Around the World

Make sure to check the how out when it comes to your town.
