Fozzy – Mill City Nights – Minneapolis, MN – November 22, 2014

On Saturday, November 22, 2014, Chris Jericho’s band, Fozzy, is at Mill City Nights in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Shaman’s Harvest and Texas Hippie Coalition get the night started off, creating an excellent introduction to Fozzy’s heavy metal show.

Shaman’s Harvest get the party started, beginning with their current single “Dangerous,” and keeping the crowd involved throughout. A major feature of the set is their version of “Dirty Diana,” the Michael Jackson hit. The cover is played brilliantly and is a sign of a bright future for the band.

Texas Hippie Coalition is up next, to the sheer glee of a nearly full venue. Big Daddy Rich, at times, has to pause and stand back, as the crowd chants “THC!” and lets the band know that they are happy to have them. THC enthralls the crowd with a mix of bluesy, gritty, and southern styled rock. It’s questioning as to why they haven’t yet headlined a tour, as they have a dedicated fan base and are fully capable of filling a venue.

Fozzy then takes to the stage, well known for their front man Chris Jericho (aka “Moongoose McQueen”). As one of the best performers of the WWE, Chris Jericho is no stranger to crowds, so it is easy for him to work them. Nor does his fame hurt the immense cult following of this band. Opening with the title track, “Do You Wanna Start A War” from their new album, and following up with a great set. To close, they entertain the crowd with a fantastic cover of Krokus’ “Eat the Rich”, something that fans of the genre enjoy immensely.
