The People Brother’s Band with Cosmic Orphan – Cascade Lake Park – Rochester, MN – June 12^th, 2024

The second installment of Rochester Public Music’s Forward Park concert series almost didn’t happen on what had been a consistently rainy and stormy day, but the rain cleared, and the clouds broke giving way to a beautiful evening for a concert from Cosmic Orphan and The People Brothers Band.  These park concerts are a great event put on by the city, with food trucks, a library Bookmobile, mobile games for kids, and face painting.

Cosmic Orphan started the evening’s show, with husband/wife duo Stacey and Dan Conway fronting a lively indie rock band, complemented by talented instrumentalists.  With influences like R.E.M and Death Cab for Cutie, their dynamic sound filled the park with a beautiful backdrop of Cascade Lake from the new Canfield Amphitheater, starting off a wonderful night of music.

The People Brother’s Band closed the night, with a vibrant blend of soulful funk and an emotionally delivered performance from singer Teresa Marie, whose beautiful smile and bright energy lit up the park and had a large group dancing on the sidelines.  Their performance was filled with messages of positivity and resilience and was both musically and emotionally stunning and captivating, and was a perfect end to the magical evening.
