Pop Evil – Minneapolis Music Hall – Minneapolis MN – February 17th 2018
Pop Evil, Black Map and Palaye Royale– Minneapolis, MN 2/17/18
This was a great night of music with three solid bands. It took place in the newly opened nightclub Music Hall formerly known as Mill City Nights.
The first band up was Palaye Royal, a newer band who is out on tour to support their latest release The Ends Beginning which is a six song EP. They were fun, entertaining to watch and brought with them not only a great stage presence, solid well-written songs as well. The music may be different but what I was thinking of as I was watching them were 60s bands like the Yardbirds, early Who and other band similar to that era. I highly recommend them, they are the best new band I’ve seen this year.
The second band up was a newer band as well, Black Map. They are on tour supporting their latest EP titled Trace The Path. Ben Flanagan the bass player has an incredible voice but in my opinion the songs just aren’t there. They fell flat after watching Palaye Royale.
The headliner was Pop Evil an American band that was formed in Michigan in 2001. They are a fantastic band with lots of energy and put on a great show. They are currently in support of their latest album titled Pop Evil. Their latest single entitled “Colors Bleed” seem to be an audience favorite.
