Kylie Cantral – The Fillmore – Minneapolis MN – September 25th 2026

Kylie Cantrall opened her Valley Girl Problems Tour at the Fillmore Minneapolis Friday night with the kind of energetic performance that suggested a young artist growing comfortably into the role of headliner.

Cantrall, known to many fans from Disney’s Descendants franchise, brought a distinctly pop-focused show to the Fillmore, combining choreography, colorful staging and an upbeat set built around her latest music.

The performance drew heavily from her Valley Girl Problems EP, including “GRWM,” “Yuck!,” “Closet,” “Carrie Bradshaw,” “Girls Like U” and the title track. She also reached back to earlier material, giving longtime followers familiar moments alongside the newer songs.

What made the evening work was Cantrall’s stage presence. She rarely allowed the momentum to dip, moving confidently through the choreography while keeping the focus on the music. Her interaction with the crowd added an informal, youthful quality to a production that otherwise had the polish of a much larger pop tour.

For a tour opener, the show also had a welcome sense of occasion. The Minneapolis crowd responded enthusiastically, singing along and matching the energy coming from the stage.

There is room for the production to grow as the tour progresses. Opening night inevitably comes with a few rough edges, and some transitions could become more seamless with additional performances. But those details were minor compared with the overall impression.

Cantrall left the Fillmore having made a convincing case for herself as more than a familiar face from television and film. Friday’s concert was a lively introduction to her next chapter — and a promising start to the tour.
