Saturday was a day full of excitement for Minnesota-Locals Hippo Campus, who formed in St. Paul circa 2013. Not only did they sell out The Armory in downtown Minneapolis to an absolutely electric crowd of 6,000 but earlier in the day they were surprised with a First Avenue Star which is something to be incredibly proud of – Local or not (Check out the list of Star receipients).
Jake Luppen, Nathan Stocker, Zach Sutton, Whistler Allen, & DeCarlo Jackson are true pros on stage playing with the kind of energy and vigor that has the crowd shaking the entire venue. Signs saying “We are so fu**ing proud of you!!!” were distributed to the front of the crowd to show the band every ounce of encouragement that they deserve.
