Its not uncommon to hear performers tell an audience that their favorite place to perform is where every they happen to be on any given night. In the case of Brandi Carlile and the relationship she has built with fans here in the Twin Cities however, such a statement actually carries some weight. The beautiful thing is that those words always manage to spark what feels like an extra special effort every time I’ve seen her here. Carlile’s August 29th performance on the grandstand stage at the Minnesota State Fair absolutely was another one of those special nights. This time around she included Wynonna Judd as her very special guest. For anyone who wasn’t aware and hadn’t seen her before, Judd show once again what a powerhouse singer she continues to be with a fun and sassy performance.
