The Fillmore Minneapolis was filled with nothing but positive energy as Ziggy Marley, with support from J Boog, brought the Brightside Tour to town for a night of great music and positive energy.

J Boog wasted no time getting the crowd moving with an energetic set full of infectious rhythms and genuine enthusiasm. His constant smile was just as contagious as the music, creating an immediate connection with the audience, who he had singing along, waving their arms, and connected in the positive energy of the music. One of the biggest highlights was the exceptional saxophone player, whose solos added another layer of excitement throughout the performance, and the additional vocalists who were were phenomenal, bringing rich harmonies and powerful voices and the additional stylization that perfectly complemented the band’s high-energy sound. With plenty of crowd participation, J Boog had the audience singing, dancing, and fully engaged from start to finish.

When Ziggy Marley took the stage, the atmosphere shifted into a cool, mellow groove without losing any of the night’s uplifting spirit. His positivity was unmistakable as he danced back from the microphone when not singing, switched between guitar and bongos, and shared his joyful energy with the audience. Rather than relying on elaborate production or flashy lighting, Ziggy let the music, the words, and the energy speak for themselves. Backed by a large, incredibly talented band and two outstanding female vocalists, every song felt warm, authentic, and captivating. “Love Is My Religion” became one of the night’s biggest singalongs, while the  powerful medley of “War / Get Up, Stand Up” reminded everyone of reggae’s roots in social justice, and when he mixed in Bob Marley classics like “Jamming,” “Is This Love,” and the encore of “Could You Be Loved”, he had the entire Fillmore singing together. Closing with the uplifting title track “Brightside” left the audience uplifted with the reminder that exceptional musicianship and heartfelt performances can create an unforgettable concert experience all on their own. Altogether, it was a celebration of positivity, community, and timeless reggae music, leaving the crowd smiling long after the final song.
