Zac Brown Band – Target Field – Minneapolis MN – August 11th 2018
Zac Brown Band, One Republic & Caroline Jones Target Field Minneapolis, MN 8/10/18
Perfect concert for a beautiful August night at Target Field. This was a real mix of music that offered something for everyone.
The evening started out with new comer Caroline Jones. Who is a 3 piece with a bass player and a guy who pounded on a box. She has a sweet voice and will probably go far in the country music scene. She only played 5 songs and I would have liked to hear her play more.
Next up was One Republic. I didn’t think this one made sense at first. It was not extreme like when The Ramones opened for Foreigner. But I thought they were noting more than a boy band. I was surprised to see they were actually a really good band. Lots of pop hits but they played with conviction and seemed to enjoy being there. Great crowd response and they were entertaining.
Zac Brown Band was very good. Incredible musicianship but not very exciting. I think any headliner at a huge venue like Target field should be using some pyro. They tried to pull off a Led Zeppelin cover “Kashmir” but I wish they would have just stuck to their songs. Over all it was a good show, people left happy and that’s all that matters.
