The Eagles / Jimmy Buffett – Target Field – Minneapolis MN – June 30th 2018

Live Nation and KQRS present The Eagles and Jimmy Buffett.

Such a fantastic night of classic rock. There is not much to say about this show but man you were lucky if you were there and if you were not, well better go next time.

Jimmy started with his Coral Reefers and played every hit you wanted to here, even Why Don’t We Get Drunk! He had people dancing in the aisles and signing along the whole time. Parrot heads everywhere!! Seen him once before but it was a huge drinking night so good to only have a couple this evening and enjoy the show. He did Southern Cross from Crosby Stills and Nash. That song used to bug the crap out of me as a kid but I love it now. Did Five O’Clock Somewhere and Alan Jackson Cover, played the song him and Brad Paisley wrote together for our veterans, Kneep Deep from Zac Brown Band. You know what you are gonna get with Jimmy and his Coral Reefers, he did not disapoint. His set had 19 songs so it was an evening of two headliners.

Setlist – Livingston Saturday Night – Pencil Thin Mustache – It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere – Son of a Son of a Sailor – Grapefruit-Juicy Fruit – Come Monday – Gypsies in the Palace – Jamaica Mistaica – Why Don’t We Get Drunk – Cheeseburger in Paradise – Volcano – Changes in Latitude, Changes in Attitude – Knee Deep – A Pirate Looks Forty – Back Where I Came From – Southern Cross – Fins – Margaritaville – Brown Eyed Girl

The Eagles have gone back out on tour with Deacon Frey taking his dads place. RIP Glen Frey. I thank you for everything you have given this world. Deacon did an amazing job standing in for his dad. Vince Gill is filling some shoes also. The band as a whole is excellent. It’s like they have not missed a beat. I have no problem with bands adding members or continuing on if it is good. When they start doing tracking and filling in blanks like that it gets kind of disheartening. Not the case here. There is a lot of people on stage but the songs sound terrific. With the beginning of the show Don comes out and says Hello and then says we are gonna play two and a half hour because we can! And that is what they did. Toward the end it was a little Joe Walsh set with some of his classics. Everyone loves Joe. As I was sitting there listening to every song I know by heart I thought this is the sound track to life. My life and maybe yours but this is real classic stuff. If you like the Eagles it is a must. Think I might just make a trip to Milwaukee in October.
