On March 9, 2022, The Varsity Theater in Minneapolis was a haven for metalheads. Sepultura, the legendary Brazilian metal band, was set to deliver a high-octane performance. Fans eagerly filled the venue, buzzing with anticipation for a night of powerful music.
As the lights dimmed, the energy in the room surged. Sepultura stormed the stage, opening with “Isolation.” The crowd erupted. Derrick Green’s commanding vocals and Andreas Kisser’s ferocious guitar riffs set the tone. The band’s tight performance immediately captivated the audience.
The setlist was a masterclass in metal. Sepultura played a mix of classics and newer tracks. “Refuse/Resist” and “Arise” had the crowd headbanging and moshing. Each song was delivered with intensity and precision. The band’s blend of thrash, groove, and death metal resonated deeply with the fans.
Eloy Casagrande’s drumming was a highlight. His relentless beats and complex rhythms drove the music forward. Paulo Jr.’s bass lines provided a thunderous foundation. Together, they created a powerful and cohesive sound. Each member’s performance was impeccable.
