Senses Fail – The Varsity Theater – Minneapolis MN – September 26th 2023

Senses Fail brought their Life Is Not a Waiting Room tour to Varsity Theater in Minneapolis, MN on September 26th, 2023. They are celebrating 15 years of the album and playing it from start to finish. Bringing with them this tour is Holding Absence and Thousand Below.

Unfortunately, Thousand Below had some mechanical issues and were not able to make the Minneapolis date.

Holding Absence kicked off the show with a ton of energy and ready to get the crowd warmed up for Senses Fail. The band hails from Cardiff, United Kingdom, so they are far from home, but said were honored to be on the tour. I’ve seen these guys before with Bad Omens and they are awesome live, the high energy they give off. Singed under Sharp Tone records in which, The Noble Art of Self Destruction, is their latest album released in August 2023. They are a band that I would keep an eye on, they are just getting bigger and better.

Senses Fail have been one of my favorites since their beginning. I’ve seen them countless times and it is always an incredible show. They are always so entertaining and Buddy, lead singer, knows how to capture a crowd, and best yet, keep that attention throughout an entire show. Life Is Not a Waiting Room being the bands third studio album. The album received a rating of 76% from AbsolutePunk, peaked at number 18 on the US Billboard 200 chart, as well as reaching number 5 on Alternative Albums, under Billboard charts. The album is lyrically centered around Buddy’s relationship with alcohol and depression and dealing with those issues. After the album was played in full the band played hits from the band’s other albums, like Calling All Cars, Bite to Break Skin, and Buried a Lie. They will always be one of my favorite bands from the ‘emo’ days, but also still today, they put on a hell of a show, and you will have a great time.
