KFAI and First Avenue present Hell’s Decibels tour staring Satan with special guests Night Demon and Haunt

My buddy and I have been looking forward to this show in a long time. We love all three bands. Just a reminder if you are going to the Turf Club you can arrive early, 90 minutes before the door and you can go into the basement and get dinner and drinks. When we got there Haunt and Satan were in booths talking to fans and signing autographs. Food is good beer is great and sometimes the bands are there.

Haunt was first tonight. They have been around since 2017 and have six albums under their belt already. Their new album Golden Arm comes out on May 5th. You can pre order it now. These guys totally remind me of Angel Witch. Funny Trevor Church came out with the shirt on. They just play fast straight on old time new wave of British heavy metal. If you are a fan of that era you will love these guys. It was about a 45 minute set they just ripped through as many songs as they could. They even gave us Fight the Good Fight from the upcoming album. They just had blue light, hence the blue photos but still amazing to see them.

Night Demon was next. I have waited 7 years for these guys to come back. The first time around I had a gig the next day and they were going on at midnight so there was no way I could stay. So I went down during soundcheck in 2016 and got a picture with the band and had them sign the debut release. So glad they finally got back here. They stuck with 4 songs from their latest release Outsider. You can get it now on their site Vinyl – CDs and cassette. I’m a total dork I bought them all. The rest of the set was 5 songs from their previous 3 releases Curse of the Damned – Night Demon and Darkness Remains. They have been all around the world playing all kinds of metal festivals during the summer. So glad they are on this tour. The reason I started listening to them was because of the cover of their debut album.  If you like metal you have to listen to these guys.

Satan is your all time classic metal band. Forming in 1979, having their debut album come out in 1983, having a few name changes and releasing some albums under those name and lots of member changes. The current line up has been together since 2011 when they reunited. They have four albums since then and are in support of Earth Infernal which came out last year. The band still sounds fantastic. They kept most of the setlist to Earth Infernal but gave us three songs off the debut album, and the rest were from their later albums since reuniting. The metal heads packed the Turf Club tonight. It is always fun to see what battle jackets people have, tour shirts and all sorts of tour garb. Tonight was an amazing set from such an iconic bands. If it is close to you go!
