Phillip Phillips – First Avenue – Minneapolis MN – April 3rd 2018
This past summer, Phillip Phillips turned out a solid performance for his “Live at the Hilde” appearance in Plymouth, MN while out on tour with the Goo Goo Dolls. The singer-songwriter / guitarist returned to the Twin Cities April 3rd in support of his third album “Collateral”, this time headlining on the main stage at First Avenue.
Now nearly 6 years out from his 2012 American Idol win, Phillips has put in plenty of hard work on the road and turned out the shows bestselling hit “Home”, adding credibility to his title. I enjoyed looking back at his Idol show audition and seeing how much he much he loves playing music. This enthusiasm was still evident Tuesday evening as he led his 5 piece band through a 13 song performance that sounded pretty polished.
