The Fillmore Present: Nightwish and Beast in Black

            Last night was another amazing evening for music at The Fillmore in Minneapolis, MN. Beast in Black, one of my new favorite bands, opened the night with their hit song “Blade Runner”. About 2 weeks ago, Beast in Black came to The Fine Line on their headlining tour, and I was lucky enough to cover that show as well. After seeing their last show, I instantly became a fan, and I was even more excited to see them again because I knew more songs. They played 9 songs including some of my favorites like “From Hell with Love”, “Die by the Blade”, and One Night in Tokyo”. This was the 7th show of Nightwish’s North American “Human. :II: Nature” tour which is based off their newest album (2020). Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band founded in 1996 from keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen. The band has won many awards from their music, and they’ve sold over 9 million records worldwide, including about 900,000 in Finland, over 1 million in Germany, and over 500,000 in the U.S. Dutch singer, Floor Jansen proved why she is one of the greatest vocalists of all-time as she seemed to hit every single note with ease. Her vocal range is incredible, and I’m glad I could see her perform live. This was my first time seeing the band, and I was very surprised!
