Live Nation and Mystic Lake Amphitheater presents Motley Crue with special guests Tesla and Extreme
Review and photos by Kyle Hansen
The Mystic Lake Amphitheater was an absolutely incredible night for Extreme fans. Extreme came out with the kind of energy, musicianship, and attitude that reminded everyone exactly why this band remains one of the most exciting live acts in rock.
From the opening notes to the final song, the performance was outstanding. Nuno Bettencourt was phenomenal on guitar, Gary Cherone sounded fantastic, and the entire band was incredibly tight. The chemistry between the musicians was obvious, and the crowd responded with huge enthusiasm all night.
The setlist was a fantastic balance of classic Extreme material, massive fan favorites, and songs that showed off the band’s musicianship. “More Than Words” was, of course, a beautiful moment, while “Get the Funk Out” brought the energy right back up and had the crowd completely fired up.
The biggest highlight for me was simply watching these musicians perform at such a high level. Nuno’s guitar playing was jaw-dropping, Gary’s stage presence was tremendous, and the whole band sounded powerful and polished. There was never a feeling that they were simply going through the motions—they looked like they were genuinely having a blast being onstage.
Mystic Lake Amphitheater was an excellent setting for the show, and the atmosphere throughout the night was fantastic. The audience clearly came ready to rock, and Extreme gave them everything they could have asked for.
This was easily a 10/10 performance. Extreme proved that great rock music, phenomenal musicianship, and genuine stage energy never go out of style. August 21, 2026, was a night to remember, and anyone who had the chance to see Extreme at Mystic Lake that night should consider themselves very lucky.
Absolutely phenomenal. Absolutely unforgettable. EXTREME at their very best!

Tesla absolutely delivered the goods at Mystic Lake Amphitheater on August 21, 2026. Their performance was one of the highlights of an already incredible night of classic hard rock, and the band sounded fantastic from beginning to end.
There was something especially enjoyable about Tesla’s set. Their bluesy, soulful approach to hard rock came through beautifully, with a combination of great guitar work, strong vocals, and a relaxed confidence that made the performance feel completely authentic. They didn’t need gimmicks—they simply got onstage and played the songs exceptionally well.
The setlist was fantastic. Opening with “Modern Day Cowboy” immediately got things moving, while “Hang Tough,” “The Way It Is,” and “Heaven’s Trail” showcased exactly what makes Tesla such a beloved band. “Love Song” was a particularly memorable moment, and finishing with “Signs” was the perfect way to close the set.
The musicianship throughout the performance was outstanding. Every song sounded powerful without losing Tesla’s distinctive, organic feel. The band seemed completely comfortable onstage, and that confidence translated directly to the audience.
The crowd at Mystic Lake was clearly there to celebrate great rock music, and Tesla gave everyone plenty to celebrate. Their set was energetic without feeling forced, polished without losing its raw character, and filled with songs that have stood the test of time.
10/10 for Tesla. They proved that authentic rock and roll doesn’t need anything complicated—it just needs great songs, great musicians, and the ability to connect with an audience. Tesla accomplished all three in spectacular fashion on August 21.
An excellent performance from an excellent band. Tesla was absolutely one of the night’s highlights!
