93X brought Megadeth live to the Roy Wilkins Auditorium to Saint Paul, Minnesota.

On October 5th, 2016, Megadeth brought their brand of thrash metal to Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul, Minnesota. The night was electric, filled with raw energy and powerful riffs. Fans eagerly awaited the legendary band’s performance, and Megadeth did not disappoint.

The concert kicked off with “Hangar 18,” instantly igniting the crowd. Dave Mustaine’s signature snarling vocals and lightning-fast guitar work set the tone. The band’s tight performance showcased their technical prowess. Kiko Loureiro’s guitar solos soared, while David Ellefson’s bass lines provided a solid foundation. Dirk Verbeuren’s drumming was relentless, driving each song with precision and intensity.

Transitioning into “The Threat Is Real” and “She-Wolf,” Megadeth maintained high energy. The audience was in a frenzy, head banging and shouting along. The mix of classic hits and newer tracks kept the setlist dynamic and engaging. “Sweating Bullets” and “Dystopia” were particular highlights, blending old-school thrash with modern metal elements.

The stage setup was impressive, with elaborate lighting and visuals enhancing the experience. Mustaine engaged with the crowd, sharing stories and rallying their enthusiasm. His charisma and connection with fans were palpable. The band’s chemistry was evident, each member feeding off the others’ energy.

Halfway through the set, Megadeth played “Symphony of Destruction.” The crowd erupted, singing every word. This iconic track, a staple of their live shows, never fails to excite. Following this, “Peace Sells” brought a wave of nostalgia, its infectious bassline resonating through the venue.

As the concert neared its end, Megadeth delivered a crushing performance of “Holy Wars… The Punishment Due.” This final song encapsulated the night’s intensity, with intricate guitar work and powerful rhythms. The band’s precision and passion were on full display.

I personally never thought I would enjoy seeing Megadeth live.  I don’t know a lot of their work.  But I really enjoy their shows.  Despite not knowing the music, the shows are just great.
