KISS – Tyson Event Center – Sioux City IA – February 21st 2020

Tyson Events Center and Live Nation present KISS with special guests David Lee Roth.

Review Kyle Hansen photos by Todd Johnson.

David Lee Roth from Van Halen fame, as you didn’t know already, has been added to the tour as the opener for 2020. This to me is a huge upgrade from David Garibaldi.

He is an amazing painter and the charity auction he did make a lot of money for the needy but it just seemed weird in a concert setting. Check his work out it is amazing.

Dave has a 45-50 minute set each night. He does not talk to much to the crowd he just comes and delivers the goods. All Van Halen songs and 3 solo tunes. The band his all tunes perfectly and Dave is way better than I expected. I had my doubts, as did a lot of people when the Vegas videos came out. Dave is far far beyond that. Know his voice is not 1977 but he does so good controlling what he can and giving us a kick ass show. Opening with You Really Got me and closing with Jump you get a greatest hits set from David Lee.

Kiss is bringing their End Of The Road tour to more US cities for 2020 and a stint overseas this summer. The tour will end on July 17th 2021 in New York City for the last KISS show. This time around we road trip for another show. We are trying to get in as many as we can before that fateful day.  This KISS show is the best in years. The stage is a non stop arsenal of pyro, pods, lights, lasers, fire, blood and more. They open with Detroit Rock City and come down from the top of the stage as the curtain drops. There is enough pyro in the first song to last the whole show. The band then kicks into the best greatest hits set list of their career. They even throw in Tears Are Falling from the 80’s. They added this time around Parasite and Do You Love me and dropped Let Me Go Rock N Roll and Crazy Night. No complaints here but would have like to see them keep Let Me Go.

This is their biggest production ever. You can compare it to other tours but it is the biggest thing they have ever done. The band has all the regular things they do. Fire breathing, blood spitting, guitar solos, drum solo and everything else.

Paul, Gene Tommy and Eric have made this tour a spectacle not to miss. Everything is there you would think a KISS show should have and more. The critics and fans who are out there complaining and saying they are phoning it in are crazy. At their age I would like to see anyone try to match what KISS is doing. To even say we are still seeing them in 2020 is a treat.

Check out the dates HERE. More dates this year all over the world and more will be announced on the KISS Kruise later in October.
