Kesha’s Freedom Tour arrived at Mystic Lake Amphitheater on Aug. 3 with exactly what the title promised: an exuberant, unapologetic celebration of resilience, individuality, and pop music’s enduring power to unite a crowd.

Following energetic opening sets from Chromeo and MEEK, Kesha took the stage shortly after 9 p.m. and wasted no time launching into “TiK ToK,” instantly transforming the amphitheater into a massive singalong. The opening stretch—”Only Love Can Save Us Now,” a mashup of “Warrior” and “Crazy Kids,” and a crowd-walking performance that blended “C’Mon” with “Thinking of You”—set an infectious tone that never let up.

Rather than relying solely on nostalgia, Kesha skillfully balanced the songs that made her a global pop phenomenon with newer material that reflects her artistic evolution. “Out Alive,” “BOY CRAZY.,” “ATTENTION!,” “JOYRIDE.,” and “ORIGAMI!” showcased a performer who continues to reinvent herself while remaining unmistakably Kesha. The production complemented the music with colorful visuals, dynamic lighting, and an atmosphere that felt equal parts dance party and theatrical spectacle.

The middle of the show leaned into fan favorites, with “Blow,” “Sleazy,” “Cannibal,” “Backstabber,” and “Take It Off” drawing some of the loudest reactions of the evening. An acoustic surprise followed when Kesha dusted off “C U Next Tuesday” for its first live performance in years before offering a brief snippet of Macklemore’s “Good Old Days,” giving the set a moment of intimacy amid the high-energy celebration.

As the concert built toward its conclusion, “Die Young” reminded the audience why Kesha remains one of pop’s most effective live entertainers: every chorus became a communal event, with thousands of voices carrying the melodies long after she stepped away from the microphone.

The encore provided the night’s emotional center. “CATHEDRAL.” flowed naturally into a stirring performance of “Praying,” a song that has become the defining statement of Kesha’s resilience and artistic rebirth. She closed with “Your Love Is My Drug” and “We R Who We R,” sending the audience home dancing, smiling, and singing every word.

At Mystic Lake Amphitheater, Kesha proved that nearly two decades into her career, she remains more than a hitmaker. She is an engaging performer whose concerts have become celebrations of confidence, acceptance, and the simple joy of singing together under a summer sky.
