In a word, Spectacular!
I grew up loving the music of the Four Seasons. Listening to my sisters’ records and later, the new songs on the radio. But like everything else, I forgot for a while. It was such a wonderful trip back in time to hear all those songs again. So many memories come rushing back of being a kid. You forget just how many hits they had. When you stop and think about it, it is almost overwhelming.
I am always apprehensive with music I love to hear it performed by someone other than the original artist. If you feel the same way, let me assure you that the cast is amazing. Not only are they all incredible singers, but great actors too. I was so impressed with their talent. Not a weak member in the bunch. They all have so much talent from the choreography to the dialogue.
The set and lighting were perfect. They would switch from a diner to a bowling alley in seconds as the scenes seemed to flow effortlessly. The story was told from several points of view. You were able to understand what the different members were feeling. It was a great way to tell a story and not just centered on 1 person. It was so much more than just the music. It was the story of the band.
This was one of the best musicals I have ever seen, and I highly recommend you buy a ticket while there are still a few available. Even if you don’t really know the Four Season’s music, you will appreciate it this production.
