Godsmack / Seether – Target Center Minneapolis MN – October 5th 2014
AEG – 93x and Target Center Present Godsmack and Seether.
Godsmack plays the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN on October 5, 2014 for the last night of their tour. They bring with them the alternate rocker sounds of Seether as an opening band, a band that brings in nearly as much an audience as Godsmack themselves. 93X Radio finally get two of their house bands back into the fold. Even with constant concerts from the bands you know what you will get, kick ass rock n roll.
Seether is in support of their latest release “Isolate and Medicate”. Aside from that, their set consists mostly of hits, which the audience loves. With a dark set stage and backdrop, not much going on stage wise. It doesn’t affect the quality of the music, which draws clearly from the grunge scene. Shaun Morgan sounds good this evening along with the rest of the band. With this being the end of the tour you never know what will happen. During “Country Song”, the roadies all come out dressed in cowboys hats and dancing all over the stage.
Godsmack hits the stage right after a nice AC/DC, “For Those About To Rock” introduction. They open up with “1000hp”, the opening title of the new album. With flames flying behind them, they get the crowd going, a crowd mostly made of 93X listeners. Sticking with what they know and keeping to the Godsmack sound the new CD, “1000hp” should please the original fans.
“Crying Like A Bitch”, “What’s Next”, and “Locked and Loaded” are next on the set. The highlight of the evening is always “Voodoo”. After that, the roadies pull out another drum set and we get double drum set solo with Sully and Shannon. As we get to the end Sully does his end of tour awards.
