Review and photos by Brian Underhill
The Villain Era Tour 2025 made the much-anticipated tour stop in Minneapolis Minnesota, four bands are on the bill, and it was held at Underground Music Venue. With a standing capacity of 540 and a 250 seating sure bring a nice intimate setting for events. They also have a café space that holds 150 standing along with 100 seating compacity. Now on with the reading the goods.
Closed City Terror
This female fronted Grunge-Metal-Punk Rock band hails from Minneapolis MN and they started the event off with a bang. This 5-piece band was formed in September 2023. So, they have been grinding away and making a name of themselves in the Twin Cities music scene. With this high energetic high intensity guitar riffs along with low bass and killer drums kept the crowd going. Songs posted on their social media include Mistake, The Grind, and Teflon Idiot. If you are into Grunge-Metal-Punk rock, then this is a band worthy of checking out.
Leaving Hope (Minneapolis MN)
This band left me very intrigued of their performance. Vocalist D.H. Wyatt, bassist James Gray, guitarist Chaz Christenson, and drummer Jericho Wolf brought thunderous sounds that sure slaps you in the face with crunch guitars and set vocals that complement each other’s style which all just blew me away. This band has been on the move, already playing Rockfest and Sturgis. If Godsmack and Alter Bridge got married that what it sounded like. Wyatt and crew are another band to keep track of. Dig Up Her Heart, Never Know, and Pandora were just to name a few that stuck out at me that were fantastic.
Impossible Prom Kings (Minneapolis MN)
The band Impossible Prom Kings has the goods and were great headliners for the show. They were fun to be introduced to. This energetic band from Minneapolis has the Warped tour vibe from the 2000’s. They have that punk alternative with the screaming and emo sound. They definitely have the energy and the in check to have what it takes to move to the next level. One thing I would say is that they are loud, in your face, and really want you to know that they are there. Be sure to be on the lookout for these guys. They mentioned that they were going on a small tour so they are well on their way. Highest Tower has been out for three months, and Rapunzel was released last summer. Check these and other songs out on all their streaming platforms like TikToK, Instagram, and Facebook.
Enemy Of Fate
For this tour stop Enemy of Fate from Sacramento, CA, decided to change things up a little bit. They wanted to be sandwiched in with the local bands and had Impossible Prom Kings headline this show. Vocalist Tiffany Fabiani, guitarist/backing vocalist Kevin Sarro, drummer Nick Morgan, bassist Dakota Binninger, and lead guitarist Jordan Soto create a mixture of hard rock and nu metal. Unfortunately, one of the guitarists had to go home for a family emergency and was unable to perform. This band is on the rise and have put together a line up that is strong and a force to be reckoned with. They have even been touring support for10 years and Plush. Let me tell you this band floored me when I heard the starting tracks and samplings in the song Surrender, and learning what the meaning was behind The Light. This song is about the struggles of mental health. Tiffany had talked with the crowed stating she almost lost a loved one to mental health, but they were able to overcome it and be here today. Kevin Sarro and Nick Morgan are military service members with Kevin being in the NAVY and Nick Army – both served tours overseas, have overcome PTSD and have gained better perspective at life. So, thank you for your service. If you have not seen this band and want some in your face, this group put on one of the best shows I have seen in a while and became a fan. I know I have said it before, and I will say it again keep them on your radar.
Overall info about the show
I thought the show was fantastic and introduced me to a who new level of music and bands that I became a fan of. This venue showed me that it can hold many different events and challenged me out of my comfort zone. I would like to come back and to check out the other spaces for the venue to see more of the offerings. What a job well done.
