Counting Crows – Grandstand Stage – Minnesota State Fair – August 26th 2022
Lens on Music at the Fair – Day 2
Content by Patrick Dunn
It was a beautiful day for the fair and the crowds certainly reflected that. The Grandstand stage was focused on ’90s Rock with Counting Crows and The Wallflowers. The show attracted a nice size crowd and the vibe was one of both excitement and nostalgia. Counting Crows launched into a couple crowd pleasers early with Round HereĀ andĀ Mr. Jones. Both bands sounded really good and the pairing was a good fit.
It was day 2 of 2 for bands playing the free stages throughout the fairgrounds, which makes for a great opportunity to go back and catch another performance of a show you enjoyed, or to get out to something you ended up missing the day before. There are also special appearances that happen in various spots throughout the fair, my favorite spot being the MPR booth. After enjoying Good Morning Bedlam at the Shell stage yesterday, I made a point to catch their on air performance for The Current, which was a blast.
