Beartooth brought their “The Below Tour” to a crowded and energized Fillmore in downtown Minneapolis on August 27th, 2021.  The floor was completely packed full of fans who had been primed full of energy by heavy-hitting support band Wage War.  As lead singer Caleb Shomo took the stage and launched into the title track from the 2021 album “Below”, the floor erupted in screams, cheers, and hands in the air.  The stunning design of the Fillmore was ignited by the intense lighting display that was perfectly synchronized with drummer Connor Denis’s thrashing beats.  They progressed through their set, filled mostly with songs from their recent release Below, but mixing in past hits such as “Hated” and “Sick of Me” from their 2016 album Aggressive and “The Lines”, “Beaten in Lips”, and “Body Bag” from their 2015 album Disgusting.

Zach Huston shredded on lead guitar solos, and high energy bassist Oshie Bichar solidified the band’s sound transition toward a more hard rock/heavy metal feel from some of their older metalcore hits, to the appreciation of the sea of crowd surfers, moshing, and devil horns. Newcomer and former guitar tech Will Deely rocked the stage and seemed a perfect fit with the band.  Closing out the evening with an encore of “The Past is Dead” and “The Last Riff”, Beartooth ended the night of intense heavy rock with a resounding thrash of the powerful music that is rising them up on the heavy rock scene.
