The Struts Live at First Avenue – Minneapolis MN – June 22nd 2023

First Avenue presents The Struts Live Remember the Name Tour with special guests Mac Saturn.
Review and photos by Kyle Hansen
Again we get a return to the main room for The Struts live. The last 2 tours they were at the palace theater in St Paul. Now as that venue holds more people which is great I did love that they were coming back to the best venue there. I have a huge love for First Avenue. It is up close and personal no matter where you are in the venue.
Mac Saturn opened but I missed them.
Frontman Luke Spiller strutted onto the stage in his signature flamboyant style, captivating the audience with his magnetic presence and powerhouse vocals. Dressed to impress in glittering attire, he commanded the stage like a modern-day rock god.  Guitarist Adam Slack shredded through riffs with precision and passion, while bassist Jed Elliott and drummer Gethin Davies locked in tight, delivering a rhythm section that pumped adrenaline into every song. Their chemistry was palpable, and it fueled the crowd’s enthusiasm from start to finish.

The setlist was a rollercoaster of hits and fan favorites, including “Body Talks.”.  More included “Could Have Been Me,” and “Primadonna Like Me.” Each song was delivered with infectious energy, encouraging the crowd to sing along at the top of their lungs and dance like there was no tomorrow.

One of the highlights of the night was when Luke Spiller ventured into the crowd, microphone in hand, and serenaded fans up close and personal. It was a moment of pure connection between the band and their devoted audience, solidifying the night as one to remember.

The venue itself, First Avenue, provided the perfect backdrop for the Struts’ rock ‘n’ roll extravaganza. With its historic charm and excellent acoustics, every note resonated beautifully, creating an immersive experience for everyone lucky enough to be there.

As the concert drew to a close, the applause was deafening, echoing the sentiment that this was not just a show, but an unforgettable experience. The Struts left us buzzing with their infectious energy and reaffirmed their status as one of the most dynamic live acts in rock today.

If you missed out on last night’s show, make sure you catch the Struts live next time they roll through town. Trust us, you won’t want to miss it! They’ll rock your socks off and leave you begging for more.
