The packed Armory brimmed with anticipation. Doors opened at 6 PM, with the crowd notably full and energetic before opening act Michael Marcagi even finished. His soulful rock stylings warmed up the room with ease. When Red Clay Strays took the stage at around 9 PM sharp, the venue was electric.

Frontman Brandon Coleman’s voice, rich, emotive and soulful, cut through with power and nuance. Backed by tight guitar harmonies from Drew Nix and Zach Rishel, and anchored by Andrew Bishop (bass) and John Hall (drums), the band’s blend of gritty country rock, Southern soul, and gospel energy came alive under the lights.

The sound leaned heavier on electric Southern rock with songs like “Stones Throw” and “Devil In My Ear” than some of their softer viral tracks like “Wondering Why”, reflecting the muscular style of their album Made by These Moments.

From the first chord, it was clear this was more than a band—it was a live ritual. Their attire and aesthetic echoed vintage Southern gothic, all while the stage presence felt electric and rooted in musical communion. Coleman moved across the stage with charisma, and the rest of the band locked in tightly, allowing space for both solo virtuosity and collective groove.

The Armory show underlined The Red Clay Strays’ fast-rising status. Blending gospel-soaked Southern rock with bold stage chemistry, they delivered a memorable, high-voltage set packed with emotion and grit. For fans of Moment of Truth or Made by These Moments, this concert confirmed they’re a band built for bigger stages.

If this show is any indication, their Get Right Tour is propelling them toward true breakout stardom.
