The Cactus Blossoms – Turf Club – St. Paul MN – January 6th 2020
First Avenue and The Turf Cub presents The Cactus Blossoms.
Review and photos by Adam Mandel
Opening for The Cactus Blossoms, Barbara Jean and Molly Dean of Dusty Heart, a side by side chemistry of pure progression and harmony to warm the souls on an early January night with my favorite song Wild Whispers. On the their web page they describe themselves as Rich vocal harmonies merge with intimate layers of guitar, fiddle and banjo to define the lush sound of Dusty Heart. Highly recommended for you that dig that music. Click HERE for all the info on Dusty Heart.
The Cactus Blossoms are calling this the 2020 Residency and it starts tonight at The Turf Club. If you missed this one don’t worry, they are in Lutsen MN this Saturday and have more Turf Club shows coming up. Jan 13th, 20th and 27th. Click the link above for tickets and more info. They opened with Happy Man On A Gloomy Day and payed homage to Bob Dylan by playing Went To See The Gypsy followed by Desperado a fan favorite.
The evening was a relaxed the wonderful evening for Minneapolis music. It was also refreshing welcome into 2020 with a parallel mix of vintage country and folk tunes at the Turf Club.
