So we got there early. We worked out way up front and bang, second row. But I had to bow out cause I had to take the shots. So that would be the end of me in the front. It got way packed after I left.
We first saw Simpson at First Avenue back in 2016 so this should be a treat. As I went up in the to the front I met a nice couple. We talked a bit and gave them my info, then Sturgill came out.
He went right up and got the crowd going. Juantia was the opening number, and right into Life os Sin and Turtles All the Way Down. We then worked out way to go get a beer. The lines were insane. They need to work on there turn around. So I couldn’t get one there so I then headed upstairs. I found my seat and by this time they were into Long White Line. I stayed there for a bit and enjoyed my seat. I saw Fastest Horse in Town, Mint Tea, If the Sun never Rises Again, A Good Look, and LA Woman.
The stage was very minnemal. It was a smaller with lights behind them and one straight line for the highlight. The smaller light would go back n forth to create a great light show. It was simple but effective.
The band was amazing! The guitars were perfect, and bass was amazing and the drums we spectacular. Oh and the keyboards are insane.
I didn’t stay for the whole show cause when he went on stage he said he was there for three hours. I gave him two of my time and that was enough. Was it great yes, was it amazing yes.
