Iconic rocker Stevie Nicks delivered an enchanting performance for a packed arena at the Grand Casino

arena in St.  Paul, MN on November 12th.  Minnesota native Anna Graves opened the show with a beautifully heartfelt performance filled with emotional connection delivered by her warm and resonant voice.  It is always amazing when an artist can captivate an arena stage with just an acoustic guitar and their voice, and Anna did just that with the crowd charmed by her personal storytelling, sincerity, and emotional clarity.  Even performing solo, she filled the space with ease, letting her lyrics and guitar work carry the weight. “Bluebird” was a crowd favorite, and she also ended her performance with a crowd sing along to a beautiful tribute to Minnesota for a proud Minnesota audience. It was a graceful, grounded performance that showcased her rising confidence and left the crowd with a sense of quiet admiration for an artist who sings straight from the heart.

Stevie Nicks then took the stage with a full band to deliver a breathtaking performance that was felt both timeless and deeply personal.  Wrapped in various signature capes and shawls which often accompanied a story or personal anecdote about the history of the particular cape, she commanded the stage with grace and incredible vocal power, while also incredibly humble for such a musical icon, even stating towards the beginning of her set as she stumbled over a word that she was so excited to be on stage that she was nervous, despite her long and storied career.  One of the highlights of the night was her personal stories about what certain songs meant to her, whether it was her account of meeting Tom Petty for the first time for the recording of “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” or her description of “The Lighthouse” as the “song of the traveling pants”.  Her backing band was phenomenal, with powerful drumming and exciting guitar work, particularly on the intro to “Stand Back” and “Edge of Seventeen”.  As the night ended magically, it was surely a show rich in nostalgia, artistry, and heart with the spellbound wonder that Stevie Nicks is still at the height of delivering.
