On a perfect summer evening, Sierra Ferrell and her band brought their enchanting Americana sound to Surly Brewing in Minneapolis on August 2nd. With clear skies and golden light, the outdoor venue set the stage for an unforgettable night of music.
Still riding the high from a recent stop at Lollapalooza in Chicago, Ferrell and her band delivered a high-energy, heartfelt performance. The stage design—decorated with whimsical oversized mushrooms and wildflowers—matched the magical tone of the night and echoed the eclectic, free-spirited vibe Ferrell is known for.
The setlist featured a mix of her latest hits and fan favorites, including “Dollar Bill Bar” and “American Dreaming.” Ferrell also delighted the crowd with a few well-loved covers and introduced a brand-new track titled “Kickin’ Up Dust,” which was warmly received by the enthusiastic audience. Her signature blend of old-school country and Americana rang out beautifully across the open air.
As the evening wound down, Ferrell surprised the crowd by weaving a bit of “Iron Man” into her closing number—a nod to the recently departed Ozzy Osbourne. It was a bold and touching tribute that capped off the night on a powerful note.
A magical performance, a picturesque setting, and a crowd full of energy made this a summer show to remember at one of Minneapolis’s favorite venues.
