Sevendust with Corey Marks – Southside Double Wide Acoustic Tour 2025 – The Fillmore Minneapolis – November 28th, 2025

Sevendust’s Southside Double-Wide Tour stop in Minneapolis felt less like a typical heavy-rock concert and more like an intimate (yet sold out) storytelling session on a cold and snowy Minnesota night at the Fillmore Minneapolis.
Cory Marks opened the night with a stripped-down solo\acoustic-rock set that was a surprisingly strong match for Sevendust’s own unplugged-rock energy. He delivered a blend of country-rock grit and hard-rock resonance with powerful and warm vocals that filled the beautiful venue. His performance came off as humble, but spirited and earnest, with his vocals carrying weight when the material got introspective, and power and drive when the songs shifted toward more aggressive, rock-tinged moments. Because the stay-home Twin Cities crowd was already primed for a heavy-rock-meets-acoustic vibe (thanks to Sevendust), Marks’ set felt like a perfect start to the evening that helped set the tone for the night. And his humble and emotional delivery and conversation with the attentive crowd added even more strength and power to the performance.
When Sevendust took the stage, they brought the crowd to their feet despire the rare, seated set-up to the Fillmore. The band leaned fully into the acoustic spirit of the tour, stripping their songs down to their emotional core and delivering them authentically and expressively. Lajon Witherspoon’s voice carried the room with a warmth and power that somehow felt even stronger without distortion behind it, and the harmonies from the rest of the band added a richness that gave classics like “Black”, “Angel’s Son”, and Beautiful a new kind of weight. Minneapolis fans embraced the quieter atmosphere, listening closely, cheering loudly between songs, and reacting with real appreciation to the more vulnerable moments. Without the usual walls of amps and adrenaline, the focus shifted to the songwriting itself, with the lyrics, melodies, and emotions on full display and lending to an even more powerful performance. While the stage set-up was simple, beautiful and striking lighting with attention to the mood of the music, like red and green highlights during “Xmas Day” and their request to light the Fillmore’s chandeliers for some of the more beautiful moments, added to the intimate and emotional feel of the night. It was a great mix of acoustic, and yet powerful rock and emotion, with Morgan Rose’s drums thundering through the venue and Clint Lowery, Vince Hornsby and John Connely’s playing on full display with the acoustic tones. It beautifully allowed the depth of their music to be more transparent and vibrant. It was a reflective, heartfelt night that showed a different side of Sevendust as confident, seasoned, and completely in control of the room even at their softest and was definitely a night to remember for the sold-out crowd in Minneapolis.
