Saving Abel – Pablo Center – Eau Claire, WI – October 29, 2025
Saving Abel (with Lines of Loyalty) – October 29, 2025 at Pablo Center in Eau Claire, WI
Review by Jim Zons
I really think Eau Claire’s Pablo Center is an unappreciated treasure in the Eau Claire area with two incredible theaters with great seating and amenities. But what really stands out is the sound quality, so when I saw that the rock band Saving Abel was making an appearance at the Pablo Center, I knew I had to catch this show!
The opening act was Lines of Loyalty, an energetic trio from Kenosha, WI, and my second time hearing these guys (I first heard them in 2023 when they opened for Pop Evil at the Fine Line … see my review of that set HERE: https://1013musicreviews.com/pop-evil-the-fine-line-minneapolis-mn-august-13th-2023/ ). According to their BIO, their name comes from their loyal commitment to both their craft and their musical mission. The band features Glenn Nubz Morrison on vocals and guitar, Redo Ianni on bass, vocals and keys, and Brayden Pike on drums. I really liked their set back in 2023, and I think they’ve only gotten better with their up-tempo mix of their own, original, hard-driving music. Check out their new CD … I think you’ll like it!
Next up, it was time for the headliner: Saving Abel. Saving Abel was founded in 2004 in Corinth, Mississippi and is named after the story in the bible about Cain and Abel. Today’s touring lineup includes Saving Abel co-founder and guitarist, Jason Null, along with Saving Abel veterans Scott Bartlett on guitar, Scott Wilson on bass, and new additions to the band: Randy Arthur Webb on lead vocals and Garfield Redden on drums. Both Webb and Redden were previously in the Cincinnati-based rock band, One Day Alive.
Their set started out with all guns blazing and never let up! I realized that I wasn’t as familiar with their music as I thought … but it didn’t matter, because everything I heard, I liked! They played up their Mississippi roots a LOT during the set, which would make you think you’re about to hear something like Skynyrd or some other southern fried rock, but what I heard was just good hard rock. Songs like “New Tattoo,” “You Make Me Sick,” “Mississippi Moonshine,” and one of their bigger hits, “The Sex is Good.” I thought it was an unusual choice to insert a cover of “Kryptonite” by 3 Doors Down in the middle of their set, but they pulled it off! The evening wrapped up with their biggest hit, “Addicted” which brought the crowd to their feet, singing along.
The evening’s music and sound were AMAZING! The lighting was … challenging … during both sets: it was very dark, with both bands washed in saturated blues and oranges, no spotlights, with both lead singers often singing in the dark. It was the only negative aspect to an otherwise unbeatable night of great rock music.
If you get a chance to catch either Lines of Loyalty or Saving Abel in concert, especially at a venue with great sound like the Pablo Center, make sure you go!
