Filter’s performance at the Xcel Energy Center on August 25, 2024, was a memorable one! It’s great to hear that the lighting improved for this show, making the experience even better. The setlist you mentioned, including tracks like “You Walk Away,” “Face Down,” “Obliteration,” “Take a Picture,” “Welcome to the Fold,” and “Hey Man, Nice Shot,” seems to cover a good range of their discography, offering a mix of their classic hits and newer material.
The inclusion of “You Walk Away” from The Amalgamut and the energy around their popular song “Hey Man, Nice Shot” must have created a dynamic and engaging atmosphere. It’s always exciting when a band delivers a set with such a thoughtful mix of songs and improved production elements.
Ministry delivered a powerful set at the Xcel Energy Center, showcasing their signature industrial metal sound with a compelling mix of tracks. Here’s a quick rundown of their set based on what you described:
- “B.D.E.” – From Hopiumforthemasses
- “God Damn White Trash” – Also from Hopiumforthemasses
- “Just Stop Oil” – From Hopiumforthemasses
- “Alert Level” – From Moral Hygiene
- “Jesus Built My Hot Rod” – From Psalm 69
- “N.W.O.” – From Psalm 69
- “Just One Fix” – From Psalm 69
- “Thieves” – From The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste
The setlist highlights Ministry’s ability to blend new material with classic hits, creating a high-energy experience for fans. Hopiumforthemasses seems to be getting strong feedback, and incorporating tracks from their previous influential albums like Psalm 69 and The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste probably added a great nostalgic element to the performance.
Alice Cooper came up next. The thing with Alice is he is an amazing performer. We got Lock Me Up, No More Mr. Nice Guy, I’m Eighteen and Under My Wheels. After I checked my gear we got some more tunes. Hey Stoopid, He’s Back (The Man Behind the Mask), Snakebite, and Feed My Frankenstein.
During Frankenstein he brought out a large monster that walked around. Go To Hell was next. I love this song, The hit Poison was up next with a guitar solo. Then came the Black Widow Jam showcasing all three amazing guitar players.
Ballad of Dwight Fry. Killer, I Love the Dead, Always awesome to see Alice get his head cut off during the later tune. Too close out the set was Elected and School’s Out. Overall it was an amazing set but Alice.
Rob Zombie was headlining tonight. Demon Speeding was first. That tune comes from The Sinister Urge, Also from that album was third Fells So Number. In between we got a White Zombie tune Super-Charged Heaven.
The stage was super cool. It had a large Zombie state in front, then it disappeared into the abyss to have Rob on the front, The band was stationed behind the area where Rob was. Well Everybody Fucking in a UFO was next. Then Call of The Zombie which featured Sherri Moon Zombie as she introduced the 26th anniversary of Hellbilly Deluxe.
Superbeast, The Lords of Salem, Dead City Radio and the New Gods of Supertown, and The Triumph of King Freak. The drum solo was next and then came the hits. The Satanic Rites of Blacula – More Human Than Human – Living Dead Girl – Thunder Kiss 65 – Dragula.
Over all it was a nice break from reality.
