P!NK Beautiful Trauma Tour 2019 – Xcel Energy Center St. Paul, MN 5/5/19
The opening act is a newer artist by the name of Julia Michaels. She’s very poppy and upbeat. She reminds me of Tiffany or Debbie Gibson from the 1980’s. She was entertaining and easy to listen to. I’m curious to see how she does with her career over the next few years.
I saw a Facebook post by a friend of mine Michelle Kletti just shortly after the show ended, she posted “Wow, just wow”. I think that says it all. Pink is the real deal for any of you that are on the fence. It’s easily one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. All of you metalhead, pyromaniac fans out there would love the production. She’s much more than a singer, she’s truly an entertainer and an artist. She’s creative and really gives her fans their money’s worth.
The staging and sets are elaborate. There are lots of costume changes and different themes throughout the show. For the most part it’s one hit right after the other with incredible choreography and visual effects. It’s everything that I want to see in a concert. The last thing I want, is somebody who just stands there and plays without so much as even acknowledging the audience. She has wonderful interaction with her fans and you can tell, she is truly happy to be there. That may be lost on some people but it certainly is not lost on me. I’ve seen a lot of concerts in my day and I still appreciate artists taking time to talk to the crowd.
Her ensemble of musicians and dancers have to be among the best in the industry. All the music was absolutely spot on. I know I started talking about the visual part but I do not want to leave the musical parts behind. Pink writes her own material and is an incredible songwriter in her own right. It truly is an evening of hits, now that I think about it. This Beautiful Trauma tour has been on the road for well over a year and this is her second stop in the Twin Cities. It is now sliding into her latest record titled Hurts 2B Human. One of the things I appreciate about her is her ability to continue to grow and expand as an artist. She doesn’t seem to have to reinvent herself the same way Madonna does every time a record comes out but she has her own style. And she is still putting out new music!!
She performed all of the hit songs you would expect to hear including “Get The Party Started”, “Who Knew”, “Try”, “Just Give Me A Reason”, “What About Us”, “Fuckin’ Perfect”, “Raise Your Glass” and “So What”. Just to name a few. I don’t want to spoil it for those of you have not seen this tour or Pink in the past. I won’t go into detail about all of the different special-effects and extras she brings to the show to make it more dynamic. Just trust me when I say, this is a tour you do not want to miss if you still have the opportunity to attend.
