MUSIC AT THE FAIR | DAY 9 – THE AVETT BROTHERS – ST. PAUL – AUGUST 29, 2025

Now 9-days in, the final Friday at the Minnesota State Fair is when the excitement really begins to ramp up as it also marks summertime’s final hurrah. The Avett Brothers was a fine choice to headline the Grandstand on what turned out to be a beautiful evening. They brought great energy and implemented their signature blend with perfection. While more subdued, The Milk Carton Kids also demonstrated a similar level of perfection as the supporting act, interacting in a meaningful way as an acoustic duo.

The free stages were alive with Latin influence that included a festive headlining performance of The Selena Show featuring Karla Perez at the Bandshell. Earlier in the day marked the return of Mariachi Campanas de Americas from San Antonio. What a bunch of top notch musicians and incredible singers who also know how to entertain an audience. Across the fairgrounds at the West End Market Stage, Los Rebeldes brought the heat with more of a Blues/Rock inspired flavor.
