Minnesota State Fair – Day Five

There was a nostalgic vibe for day 5 at the Minnesota State Fair as Tommy James and the Shondells performed on the grandstand as part of the Happy Together 2019 Tour. It was evident that so many of the good size crowd just loved hearing this music again live and on a big stage. James cycled through his many hits in a way that you could tell he still has fun performing this material.  Altogether, it was a substantial night of music from this active and diverse time of creativity.

We made a point to catch Kat Perkins for her headlining set at the Bazaar After Dark Concert series.  Perkins vocal ability is so enjoyable to witness and she emits such a positive and joyful energy that it’s impossible not to be lifted up by her performance.

Although it took a little bit of hustling, we were also able to catch the last few tunes by veteran country band Lonestar who was headlining the Bandshell Tonight Concert Series. I was great to hear their big radio hits again in a live setting.
