Elijah
Starting off the night strong was the solo artist Elijah. I’ll be honest, I hadn’t listened to Elijah much before the show but I came away a new fan! He brought the energy right away, starting the set with a new song “Skin”. Everyone in the band had great stage presence the entire set! They were constantly jumping and spinning around and interacting with the crowd and Elijah at one point jumped down from the stage and climbed on the barricade to sing with the fans. One thing I was pleasantly surprised by was how amazing Elijah sounded live. It’s not easy going back and forth from harsh vocals to cleans but Elijah sounded almost identical to the recordings! And for any Elijah fans that read this and are going to a future show, he may or may not play a new unreleased song called “IDGAF”.

Wind Walkers
I heard about and became a fan of Wind Walkers when they released their album “What If I Break” in 2023, so I was very excited to get to see them live for the first time and they did not disappoint! Just like with Elijah, everyone from Wind Walkers brought insane energy the entire set. The crowd did not disappoint either, with everyone jumping, moshing and singing to every song! Every time the vocalist Trevor Borg would hold the mic to the crowd, the crowd would belt out the emotional lyrics that Wind Walkers are known for. Although they did not perform it live, I highly recommend checking out the cover they did of the song “Without Me” by Halsey.

Caskets
Besides Memphis May Fire, Caskets is who I was most excited to see. Their album “Lost Souls”, that was released in 2021, is one of my favorite albums of all time so I was thrilled that they played “Lost in Echoes”, “Drowned in Emotion” and ending the set with “Glass Heart” from that album. Caskets is the perfect blend of catchy riffs, heavy breakdowns and emotional lyrics. They brought the same energy and emotion you feel from their albums to their live show. At one point the vocalist, Matthew Flood, stopped to take in the moment, appearing to get emotional as the crowd screamed the lyrics back at him.

Memphis May Fire

Memphis May fire is a band that has been around for a very long time, debuting in 2006 (under the name “Oh Captain, My Captain”). The last time I saw Memphis May Fire live was way back in 2013 at the Vans Warped Tour in Shakopee, MN when one of my friends was their tour photographer at the time. I remember him saying the guys in Memphis May Fire are some of the nicest people he has ever met and that was evident as I walked around the show. I noticed some of the band members walking around talking and interacting with fans and taking pictures. Since MMF has been around for almost 20 years, it was cool to see the wide age range of people at the show. I love that they played some of their older heavier hits like “Vices” off their Challenger album (released in 2012) and “The Sinner” off their album The Hollow (released in 2011). Being a band for as long as MMF has, I was happy to see they have only gotten better over the years. With the amazing stage production, sound, and energy they bring to their live shows and the great albums they put out year after year, it’s clear why Memphis May Fire has had such a loyal and dedicated fan base for so many years and they don’t show any signs of slowing down anytime soon.
