Peeling Flesh
Looking around at the packed crowd at The Myth as Peeling Flesh hit the stage, you would think people were disgusted by what they were hearing but trust me, they were loving every second of it! As soon as the first note hit, chaos erupted! Heads were banging and faces began to melt as Peeling Flesh kicked off the night with their signature slam metal style. The vocalist looked like he was having an absolute blast, jumping and dancing around on stage, all while laying down some of the heaviest vocals you’ll hear! The entire band was feeding off the crowd’s energy the entire set. That kind of joy and intensity is infectious.
And let’s be real, this tour lineup is insane. A band like Peeling Flesh opening couldn’t be a more perfect way to kick off the night. They set the tone immediately: raw and unrelenting. By the time they finished, the crowd was fired up and ready for everything else the night had in store.

Shadow of Intent
I’ve always loved the Halo video games growing up, so when I first heard there was a Halo-themed deathcore band named Shadow of Intent, which is a ship from the series, I had to check them out! That was around 2016, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Since I’ve been following Shadow of Intent for a while now, seeing them finally take the stage at The Myth was a big one for me. Over the years they have built a reputation for combining heaviness with atmosphere, and live, it hits even harder.
Vocalist Ben Duerr sat out this tour as he awaits the birth of his child, and ex–A Wake in Providence front man Adam Mercer took over the vocal duties. Fun fact: when Mercer joined A Wake in Providence, he was actually replacing now–Lorna Shore vocalist Will Ramos.
Lineup changes like that can sometimes throw a band off, but not for Shadow Of Intent. Mercer absolutely crushed it and the rest of the band did not miss a beat! His presence and confidence fit seamlessly with the band’s massive sound, and the crowd fed off it. The entire band was dialed in from start to finish. You could tell they’ve been grinding for years, and it shows. No gimmicks, no filler, just a band that knows how to deliver a killer live set!

The Black Dahlia Murder
This was my first time seeing The Black Dahlia Murder live, and honestly, it just made me mad I hadn’t taken the chance to see them sooner. The second they hit the stage; it was obvious why they’re considered legends. The energy, the stage presence, the way they connect with the crowd, it’s the kind of thing that only comes from years of tours and shows and still loving every second of it. There was a mix of chaos and celebration in the room. Fans were losing their minds, but you could also feel this deep respect from everyone there.
The band ripped through their set with total confidence. They were fast, heavy, and tight, but never mechanical. You could tell they were genuinely loving it and having fun up there, feeding off the crowd and giving it right back. For a band that’s been through so much and still delivers at this level, it’s nothing short of inspiring. They’ve earned every bit of their legendary status.

Lorna Shore
The last time I saw Lorna Shore was back in 2022 at The Cabooze, and it’s wild how much they’ve exploded since then. From the stage setup to the sheer presence of the band, everything feels bigger, sharper, and more commanding than ever.
Their 2022 album Pain Remains is one I am always spinning on vinyl and has quickly become one of my favorite deathcore albums. Hearing songs like Into the Earth and Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames live was unreal! They crushed as hard as I thought they would. The entire set was mixed with long tracks that naturally shifted from crushing heaviness to moments of calm and melody, with the lighting and production hitting every shift perfectly.
Will Ramos continues to impress in a way that’s almost unfair. His insane vocal range never misses a beat live, and somehow, he even elevates the performance beyond what the recordings capture! The energy from the band and the crowd was nonstop, pits opening, fans screaming along, and a palpable sense of excitement that carried through the entire set.
Seeing Lorna Shore live again just reminded me why deathcore is my favorite genre! From The Cabooze, to The Fillmore, to The Myth, it’s clear Lorna Shore isn’t slowing down anytime soon. If anything, this show proves they’re only getting bigger, tighter, and more unstoppable.
