King Diamond – Palace Theater – St. Paul – November 19th 2019

King Diamond with Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats and Idle Hands The Palace, St. Paul, MN 11/19/19

The two opening bands were good, Idle Hands and Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats.  They both had some really catchy songs but both had poor stage presence. In addition if you plan to go see either of them in the future, bring your flash light. Its the only way you can see them on stage.  They played almost completely in the dark. Someone need to explain to them that you should actually let the audience see you, not just hear you.

King Diamond was fantastic!  Great sounding show and great visuals.  I always appreciate artists like King Diamond that deliver a show to their fans. The Palace is a great place to see a show if you have not been there. Located in downtown St. Paul there is plenty of parking.  The sight lines are great and they can accommodate a show like this with production.

There were a lot of people there last night and I was wondering coming in how the crowd would be. They are totally into in and seemed to know all the material. I tip my hat to King Diamond for working in new music.  He told the crowd that they are working on a new album but in the mean time played a new song they just released titled “Masquerade Of Madness”. It fit right in with the older material and the crowd seemed to enjoy it.

He did perform songs that you would expect like “Funeral”, “Sleepless Nights”, “Burn” and “Black Horsemen”. Over all it was a really great production with some cool props and a lot of fun to watch. I would go see him again.
