Keith Wallen with Levels and Blur Curve – Turf Club – St. Paul, MN – August 14th, 2025

It was a packed night of great music at the Turf Club in St. Paul, MN on August 14th, as he was joined by heavy hitters Levels and local opener Blur Curve. Blur Curve started off the night with an energetic and theatrical performance with the band’s aggressive energy and industrial rock edge shining through immediately. It was a great set of gritty, modern rock and the performance elements, especially of lead singer Alythia Scully, who’s soulful and emotive dancing brought even more emotion to the already charged performance.
Arkansas metal band Levels was up next and hit the energized crowd with a power-packed, high-energy set of songs. Kolby Carignan was on fire on lead vocals with gritty depth and haunting vocal tones from the shadowy lighting on the Tuf Club stage. They mixed progressive metalcore with modern touches of pop, and electronic. Their music carried the intensity of heavy metal but touched with an atmosphere of darkness with beautiful melody, and rhythmic shifts. Levels is a polished, high-energy live act worth catching and had a great performance to fire up the crowd at the Turf Club.
Ketih Wallen then took the stage for a captivating and yet down-to-earth performance that connected deeply with the crowd. The Breaking Benjamin guitarist has been forging a solid solo career that is driven by his charismatic stage personality and powerful vocals, delivering emotional nuance across alt-rock riffs enriched with moody synths and gritty textures. The great musicality of his performance was enhanced by great performances from bassist Nick Bedrosian, guitarist Mike Warren and drummer Blake Bailey. His music is very approachable, with solid rock vibes and lyrics that touch on so many relatable emotions, and with his candid and authentic delivery, he instantly connected with the full room. The show was perfectly driven, with dynamic shifts—moments where it was just his voice and guitar, followed by full-band sections that swelled with energy. The pacing kept the audience engaged, moving fluidly between heartfelt introspection and driving anthems and heavy rock. He definitely gained some new fans and is on a trajectory to become a not to miss rock show.
