Opening for Incubus was another early 2000’s indie rock band, Manchester Orchestra. Lead singer Andy Hull, lead guitarist Robert McDowell, bassist Andy Prince and drummer Tim Very lit up the stage with several emotionally driven songs starting with “Pride” and “Keep Timing” and then moved through the performance with other album hits including “The Gold” and “The Sunshine”. Ending with a top fan favorite “The Silence”, the start of the evening set just the right indie rock mood to welcome in the leading act.

Incubus took the stage around 9 p.m. at the Treasure Island Amphitheater in Welch, Minnesota, providing the perfect soundtrack to a warm summer evening in this typically cold-weather state. The band—Brandon Boyd, Mike Einziger, Jose Pasillas, DJ Kilmore, and newest member Nicole Row—treated fans to a full live performance of their 2001 hit album Morning View, followed by a set of fan favorites they aptly dubbed “the hits.”

The second half of the show featured classics like “Megalomaniac,” “The Warmth,” and “Vitamin,” and wrapped with a high-energy performance of “Pardon Me.” In a surprising and well-received twist, the band added two unexpected covers that blended seamlessly into the setlist: Phil Collins’ haunting “In the Air Tonight” and a moody rendition of Rihanna’s “Umbrella.”

The outdoor setting at Treasure Island Amphitheater struck a rare balance—it was large enough to channel the energy of a full-scale rock show, yet intimate enough to maintain a small-venue vibe. General admission on the lawn offered plenty of space for fans to relax in camping chairs, while reserved seating left no one with a bad view. With ample facilities and an array of food and beverage vendors, the venue delivered a smooth and enjoyable concert experience from start to finish.
