Hinder with Goodbye June and Via Varsity Theater – Minneapolis, MN – August 15th, 2023

Minneapolis showed up on a Tuesday night to pack the house for a night of rock headlined by Hinder.  Joined by Goodbye June and Via, they were met with a high energy crowd.  They all came ready to rock on a work night.

Via opened the night with a blast of energy.  The heavy-hitting four piece act, left it all on the stage.  With their raspy screams and heavy vocals, animated guitar solos, and thick bass lines.  They brought a great stage presence and fun stage set.

Goodbye June was up next.  The Nashville based band delighted the crowd with a unique blend of blues and rock.  It was a classic Nashville sound.  Lead singer Landon Milbourn’s incredibly powerful and soulful voice has a beautifully unique tone.  It adds a depth of emotion to their music that connected with the crowd.  Guitarists Tyler Baker and Brandon Qualkenbush’s mix of bluesy riffs and melodic solos brough a dynamic and versatile sound to the group.  Their set was lively and entertaining.  With this, they had the crowd moving and dancing along.

Hinder closed the night with a set packed with energy and connection.  The Oklahoma based rockers delighted the crowd.  They did such with a mix of their older classics and newer music.  They opened with “Up All Night” off their second studio album “Take It to the Limit”, and the energy and charisma of front man Marshal Dutton was immediately apparent.  A few songs in they slowed it down with “Without You”, and the crowd joined in the heartfelt words and Dutton’s emotional delivery which was beautifully paired to Joe “Blower” Garvey’s acoustic guitar.

Drummer Cody Hanson’s thunderous backbeat carried the rock to an intense level, matched with bassist Mike Rodden’s monstrous base tones and melodic guitar tones from Justin Shipley.  After a fun cover of the Eagles’ “Life in the Fast Lane”, they closed the night with crowd favorites “Lips of an Angel” and “Get Stoned”, making sure the packed Varsity Theater ended this unforgettable night with a connection with the band and an amazing reason for being out so late on a Tuesday.  Hinder continues to deliver one of the most engaging and energizing  rock shows out there.
