Hairball  live at Iron Trail Motors Event Center – Virginia MN – April 13th 2024

The Iron Range doesn’t get too many rock n roll shows, so when a band like Hairball comes to the area, the die hard rockers come out in droves.  The Iron Trail Motors Event center hosted Hairball along with The Northwood’s Band out of Duluth, Mn for a great night of music..

Opening the night was The Northwood’s Band.  They treated everyone with great rock music from the 80’s and 90’s.  They were fun to watch, energetic and very polished musically.  They have been voted the best band in the Duluth area for many years and if your ever see them live, you will know why.

Hairball is Minnesota’s best arena rock tribute band period.  Doing what they do for over 20 years, they bring the best of the 70’s and 80’s music to life.  With three lead singers dressed in some killer outfits and some that are as cheesy as an MTV music video, they are going to play something for everyone.  They have great such versitality, you never know which acts they are going to cover on a given night.  This night featured Motley Crue, Ratt, Def Leppard, Alice Cooper, Motorhead and Ozzy Osbourne, just to name a few.  They got the fans into it early, singing along to the music of their youth.  Some of them even brought along their children to experience thedecade of decadance we love so well.

Before the closing songs, the guys from the band paid tribute to local military veterans, one of which is the father to my fellow photographer, Eric Sherman.  He was grinning ear to ear watching with pride as the red, white and blue was raised and “Happy”, their guitarist, shredded a killer version of the national anthem ala Jimi Hendrix style.  After closing out the night with AC/DC’s Thunderstruck and Shook Me All Night Long, the band came off stage, talked to fans and even had their photos taken with them.. They are definetly a fun bunch of guys doing what they love, so get out and support live music!
