Ghost Live in Milwaukee – July 29, 2025
Venue: Fiserv Forum
Tour: Skeletour 2025
Reviewer’s Perspective: Fan of Ghost since the first album, 3 rows from the stage
The Ritual Begins
As the lights dimmed in Fiserv Forum and that eerie choir music began to swell, I knew this wasn’t just a concert—it was a ceremony. Papa Emeritus IV emerged from the shadows with a regal confidence, flanked by the Nameless Ghouls in synchronized formation. The crowd erupted like thunder. Every person around me looked either spellbound or possessed. That’s Ghost for you.
They opened with Peacefield, one of the newer tracks from Skeletá, and the slow-building tension immediately grabbed the audience. By the time they launched into Circle and Call Me Little Sunshine, everyone was shouting along like a congregation in full spiritual ecstasy.
Setlist Flow & Sound
The setlist was a beautiful rollercoaster. The new songs from Skeletá like Lachryma and Umbra blended surprisingly well with classics like Year Zero, Rats, and He Is. The band’s musical precision was on full display—tight, layered, and booming without being muddy. The guitars roared, the keys shimmered, and Papa’s voice was flawless.
One of the most moving moments was He Is—the entire arena swaying and singing every word like a hymn. I actually saw two people crying. Not out of sadness—just overwhelmed by the emotion of it.
Stage Production
The production was top-tier. There were smoke machines, fire bursts during Circle, and a mock-sermon podium where Papa addressed the audience with his usual mix of charm and blasphemy. The visuals were theatrical but never felt overdone. It walked that perfect line between arena rock spectacle and religious parody.
Lighting was timed to the beat—sharp reds during Year Zero, golden hues during He Is, and pitch-black transitions between acts. Each song felt like its own mini-play.
No Phones, No Problem
The phone-free policy? Honestly, I thought I’d hate it. But it ended up being one of the best parts. No glowing screens blocking my view, no people recording vertical videos for TikTok clout—just 18,000 people fully present, immersed in sound and fire and smoke. You could feel the difference. It was like stepping back into a world where live music meant something sacred.
Crowd Energy
Milwaukee brought the energy. From the front rows to the nosebleeds, everyone was singing, headbanging, or at least nodding along. Fans came dressed in full Ghost cosplay—Papas, Sisters of Sin, and Nameless Ghoul costume that somehow made it through security.
What struck me most was the warmth of the fan base. Total strangers high-fived, shared water bottles, and shouted lyrics into each other’s faces. For a band so heavy on Satanic aesthetics, the crowd was one of the kindest I’ve experienced.
Final Verdict
Ghost’s July 29 show in Milwaukee wasn’t just a concert—it was a communal rite. Musically flawless, visually stunning, emotionally cathartic. Whether you came as a devout member of the Congregation or a curious newcomer, you left transformed.
10/10 — a ritual worth remembering.
