Ghost Live at American Family Insurance Amphitheater – Milwaukee WI – August 12th 2023

Live Nation and American Family Insurance Amphitheater present Ghost live with very special guests Amon Amarth.

On August 12th, 2023, Ghost brought their theatrical metal to the American Family Insurance Amphitheater in Milwaukee, WI. The night crackled with anticipation. Fans gathered early, buzzing with excitement. Not only were people there to see Ghost, they were there for  Amon Amarth.  Amon Amarth has a true dedication of fans.  It’s awesome to see.

The stage setup impressed immediately. Elaborate, gothic, and darkly enchanting. Ghost knows how to set a scene. As the lights dimmed, the crowd erupted. The Nameless Ghouls took their positions. Then, Tobias Forge, the enigmatic frontman known as Papa Emeritus IV, emerged. The energy soared.

They opened with “Kaisarion” from their latest album, Impera. The powerful riffs and haunting vocals set the tone. Fans sang along, their voices merging with the music. The amphitheater pulsed with unity and intensity.  “Rats” followed, driving the crowd wild. The band executed every note with precision. Forge’s charismatic presence commanded the stage. He interacted with fans, weaving between verses and choruses with ease.

The setlist balanced old and new. Classics like “Cirice” and “He Is” received rapturous responses. Each song showcased Ghost’s blend of metal, rock, and theatrical flair. The band’s tight musicianship shone through. The Nameless Ghouls played with passion and precision, their identities hidden behind masks.

Midway through the set, they performed “Mary on a Cross”. The melodic track provided a haunting contrast. The crowd swayed, immersed in the ethereal atmosphere. Forge’s voice, rich and emotive, resonated deeply  “Year Zero” brought a dramatic flair. Flames and pyrotechnics lit up the stage. The song’s dark, apocalyptic themes captivated the audience. Fans chanted along, their voices echoing the chorus. The theatrical elements elevated the performance.

They closed with “Square Hammer”. The amphitheater exploded in cheers. Fans sang every word, their voices a testament to the band’s impact. The song’s infectious chorus provided a perfect finale. Ghost left the stage, but the crowd’s applause lingered.
