Blackberry Smoke Live at First Avenue – Minneapolis MN – November 5th 2016

First Avenue presents Blackberry Smoke live.

Last time I saw Blackberry Smoke live, they opened for Kid Rock at the Great Minnesota get together, AKA The Minnesota State Fair.  I was excited to see our favorite indie country southern rock blues band headline First Avenue.

As an opening slot you only get thirty to forty-five minutes.  Their show is just a straight forward rock n roll show.  It’s simply, “we have guitars, drums, bass and piano.” They come out to rock n roll.  And they do.

Too bad the kids are not doing more of this. We need more bands like Blackberry Smoke. Blackberry Smoke’s live performances are a testament to their musicianship and showmanship. Whether playing in small clubs or large festivals, the band delivers energetic and soulful shows that resonate with fans of all ages. Their ability to connect with the audience through their music is a key part of their enduring popularity.

The band was really tight tonight and the place was packed.  To describe them I would say it is like making a burrito with Aerosmith – The Black Crowes – 38 Special and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

They are on tour supporting their latest album Like An Arrow, released on October 14th 2016

Check them out if you have not had the pleasure. They are awesome.
