MINNEAPOLIS (Jan. 24, 2022) — Producers and co-Presidents of the Prom Committee, along with Hennepin Theatre Trust, announced today that the National Tour of the 2019 Drama Desk Award winner for Outstanding Musical THE PROM will play at the historic Orpheum Theatre (910 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis) from Tuesday, April 12 to Sunday, April 17, 2022.

Show dates are Tuesday, April 12 to Sunday, April 17, 2022 at the historic Orpheum Theatre. Performance times are Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 and 6:30 p.m.

Ticket prices start at $50. All pricing includes a Building Restoration Fee of $5

Viking Books also recently announced that Saundra Mitchell, author of over twenty books for tweens and teens, has written the YA novelization of the hit Broadway musical comedy, THE PROM to adapt the new original musical into a reading experience that reflects the energy and humor of the show, and echoes its message of acceptance and inclusion. The book was published on September 10, 2019 with Viking Children’s Books, an imprint of Penguin Young Readers.

THE PROM made its world premiere at The Alliance Theatre, Atlanta, GA, Susan V. Booth, Artistic Director, in 2016, and played its final performance at the Longacre Theatre on Broadway on August 11, 2019 after playing 23 previews and 310 regular performances.

Vaccine policy and safety protocols in our theatres

Vaccine-eligible guests aged 12 and over attending any performance at the historic Orpheum, State and Pantages theatres will be required to provide proof of vaccination. Children 11 and younger will not need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test. Additionally, all guests are required to wear a face mask securely covering their mouths and noses in the venue (except while actively eating or drinking in designated areas). Individuals 12 or older who require an accommodation for the vaccine requirement due to a medical reason or a sincerely held religious belief that prevents vaccination may present proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours in advance of the event or a negative antigen test taken within 24 hours in advance of the event.
