Jason Aldean – Xcel Energy Center – St. Paul MN 1/17/2014

Xcel Energy Center presents Jason Aldean.

Jason Aldean his Night Train tour to a sold out the Xcel Energy Center for the second time on January 17, 2014. Fans brave

the cold Minnesota winter to pack their way into the busy crowd to see not only him, but Florida

Georgia Line, a band that has already become incredibly popular.

Aldean is not a stranger to the Xcel. He has already sold it out twice as a headliner, as well as opened

for Brooks and Dunn and Rascal Flatts in previous years. This time, the stage is all his, much to the

delight of his many fans. The crowd is filled with fans of all ages. The women surpass the men about

two to one, dressed in cowboy boots and hats, looking for a fun way to spend a Friday night.

One of the great things about Jason Aldean is that he has his own style. The country music he plays

is that – country music. It’s not pop music like a lot of the sounds people hear and call country music

today. Rather, he appeals to the audience in a less flashy style, hiding slightly behind the rim of his hat

and letting the music do the talking for him. His music appeals to fans of all ages with the more upbeat

and catchy tunes, as well as the softer crooning styles. Much like other artists of his ilk, he doesn’t skip

on the stereotypical, yet entertaining, aspects of country music: trucks, booze, and women.

There are two openers, Tyler Farr and Florida Georgia Line. Both are newcomers that have very

different sounds from each other as well as Aldean. Between the sets, a DJ spins rock and roll hits from

the 1980s and 1990s, developing a unique party atmosphere.

Florida Georgia Line is well known for their pop style sound, as well as their hit, “Cruise”. It would be

easy to say that they may have upstaged the main act, had the crowd been there to see more of a pop

show.
